I can remember the schoolboy enclosures, and I remember when you could lift the schoolboys over the turnstiles at Hampden. My first game was against Wales in the Home Internationals in 1971 or 72, we won and I've only missed a handful of home games since.

Something to say

I was 8 it was the night we
qualified for our first ever world cup.
What a night. I remember a man called
Joe Jordan came on as a sub and scored
the winning goal. After a start like that I
have followed Scotland ever since, but
the memory of that night will never go away.

I first ventured into hampden when I was 11 to see the last world cup qualifier for Italia 90 - Scotland 1 Norway 1. If ma memory serves me correct it was one of the last games before the old covered terracing became all seated, can anyone confirm this or am I talking mince?

GET A LIFE!!!

Friendly against USSR in 1991 at Ibrox aged 13.  Probably the worst game of my life - freezing cold and we lost but I was more concerned about frost bite.  Still stuck it out though.  It was the Euro Qualifier against Portugal the next year that go me hooked.

Opinionated Wind Bag

first game was against NI in either 73 or 74, can't quite remember exactly when or even the score for that matter, all I know was I was hooked. I would be 12 or 13 and had banged on at my old man to take me for a few years but the best I had been to was to see Dundee against Celtic a couple of times in semi finals at Hampden. When I finally got to see Scotland I knew it had been worth the wait.
