Scotland the Brave is bloody awful... it's almost like a bloody comedy song, I hate it.
As Janco says, Flower of Scotland is NOT whining on about the past... "Those days are past now and in the past they must remain...
We can still rise now and be the nationa again"
Hardly whining about the past.

Flower of Scotland has to be the choice, Scotland the Brave is only good when you are Magood and bounce around like a numpty.

Half time is always good at Hampden, more of the Proclaimers and the Runrig version of Loch lomond always gets the crowd going, the only bit that spoils it is the Braveheart lament before battle.

Aye - whatever happened to them playing the theme from "Local Hero" as the teams came out? They did it for a while then started using the Braveheart lament instead...nice tune, but it's not exactly inspiring. The Local Hero one was superb, though.

As a country we don't really have a settled anthem,it is coming down on the side of FOS but does anyone know what one will be played if Scotland win a gold at the Commonwealth games, there has to be a decision taken as to Scotlands National anthem and all sports and organisations should adhere to it,and remember Scots Wha Hae is considered by some to be the anthem.

Ah now you're talking - "Scots Wha Hae" should definitely get played more often. Maybe someone should drop a wee note to the SFA requesting that they play Scotland the Brave and Scots Wha Hae before the game....

I remember a while back somebody prattlin on aboot "Scotland will flourish".. whilst it is a great song, as a national anthem I reckon it could kill ANY atmosphere!!!
Shame MacPhersons Rant isnt relevant...

FOS for me although i do think it needs a good tannoy system and maybe sped up a bit. Have heard it played at a number of speeds over the years.

Ok we changed our anthem once but that doesn't mean we should do it everytime the fancy takes us. For goodness sake its not the Eurovision song contest its our national anthem.

BTW Scots Wha Hae is a brilliant song. Campbeltown Loch is sh*te. IMHO
