We've also signed a few of the under 18's from Falkirk who've been touted as being potential stars - any Bairns that can enlighten us?
In all honesty Neil i think you've picked up a couple of duds. Ian Morris looked promising a year or so ago but had a terrible season last year. Ricky Waddell is a winger who will have 1 good game in 10 games. When he's on his game though he's a good player. I don't think they will feature much from the start for Thistle next season, they didn't start for us much last season, which is saying something as we only had about 15 players!!!!
Young Lee Miller and Mark Kerr did very well last season, both look like very promising players considering they were playing in such a poor team last season.

Opinionated Wind Bag |
I personally dont think Phil McGuire is anyway near good enough yet - he still makes too many basic mistakes, especially in away games. At the moment Russell Anderson is a far better bet than Phil.
And if yesterday is anything to go by - McGuire has a bit of an attitude problem - getting involved in a fight with a team mate.
Heard on good authority today that McGuire is on his way to Parkhead.

If they are over 21 then bring back the under 23s, also a B-squad selection, both levels could face opposition from Wales, Ireland etc. Who knows who may be discovered.
A selection of young Scots for the future, incidently who were all born in Scotland , to me that doesn't make much of a diffference, as long as they have a claim of Scottish parentage is what matters.
Here goes,
GK Donet Ross Co.
GK Van Derdeyl Dundee.
Def Dlugonski Ross Co.
Def Cocozza Dundee Utd.
Def Kaczan Hearts
Def Janczyk Hearts.
Fionda Dundee Utd.
Ogunmade Dundee Utd.
For Di Giacomo Kilmarnock
Def Jablonski Dundee
For Carella Aberdeen
For Tarditi Aberdeen
Mid Panther St. Johnstone
None over 21 and the youngest is still only 16.
My tip for definite one to watch for the future is big Manny Panther, few games in the Spl last season, and surely should be looked at for the u-21 squad soon.

GET A LIFE!!! |
This is an important season for many players. Good reputations from last season mean bugger all in the future. So far the analysis is NOT good....
McNaughton has not played well....Phil McGuire (apart from being ripped apart yesterday), showed a remarkable loss of composure by attempting to lamp Jamie McAllister, no matter how deserved it was.....Gary O'Connor has only shown a misplaced arrogance in two desperate games for Hibs so far.
And as for the Old Firm.....depite the hype (in the media and on this board), given to Ross and Hughes, the only Scottish player to get a game for Rangers so far is Ferguson.
And the only Scot to play for Celtic is Lambert.
WHERE ARE THEY ?
Where are Crainey, Maloney, Ross, Hughes etc etc etc....to all effective purposes, O'Neil and McLeish are playing Scotlands best young talents (supposedly) in the reserves.......fantastic.....if they're so good, get them in the first team !!!

Young Scottish players Andy Gibson at Partick will be a wee gem i think he's only 18 and playing well for us, Also i like the looks of Murray at HIbs and another Murray at Kilmarnock. Kris Boyd is looking good too and alongside Mark Wilson(Dundee Utd)
I Don't know so much about Hughes, from what I've seen from him he looks decent but i dunno if he's as good as being hyped. Kevin Kyle is only 20 so he's classed as a youngster he looked good on the tour, gave his all for the jersey. Michael Stewart and Gareth Williams are both very good talents coming through both 21 and looking good, Williams looked good against Nigeria and He's been playing wonders for Forrest all last season so hopefully, they'll come through. Stewart is looking good too.. and fletcher at Man Utd has a squad number which means well alot, To get a squad number must mean that he's impressed alot down there with the coaches and i think he's only 17 or 18,
But i feel Maloney has to be in the squad tomorrow he's been outstanding in the Friendlies pre-season and the english were drooling over his skills against Spurs... Although he's no getting a game at the tic he's well worth a call up and possibly a wee run out for 20mins against Denmark.. it's our future i think we need to give him a chance , Mo Ross aswell should be in the squad..

How can we pick players for the international team who aren't considered good enough to play for their club sides ?
