Has anyone heard anything about a Scottish guy who fell from the stand in the Poland v Portugal game in Jeonju?
Apparently he's in a critical condition.

FAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION
A Scottish football fan is in a critical condition after falling from a stand during the Group D World Cup game between Portugal and Poland. The man, who has not been named, is believed to be undergoing emergency surgery after being stretchered out of the ground in the South Korean city of Jeonju. It was not known how far the fan fell. Stadium information officer Seop Nam Mun says the Scottish supporter fell into the moat and is in a critical condition. World Cup organisers are investigating exactly what had happened. In a separate incident a polish fan fell down a flight of stairs at the same stan but was not seriously hurt.

Was this guy there himself,surely someone knows who he is?If we find out who he is dont you think it would be a nice gesture to send cards or something, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Yeah, heard the sad news today, hope the fella and the Polish fan pull through okay.
Like Insomnia says the guy was allegedly running down the stairs, which were wet from the downpour, and he is believed to have lost his footing and gone over the barrier( however he was believed also to be intoxicated).
IMO an accident waiting to happen as I have often said that the low barrier in stands in dangerous to anyone who trips, as the gradient of the seating in some stands is frightening.
Other than put small fences on top of the barriers (in which case the front few rows of seating would have to be removed in order not to restrict viewing) dont really know the answer.
Once again best wishes with the guys and their families.

Daily Record wed stated Jack still in intensive care but was showing signs of recovery was no longer in a coma and would not need surgery for a brain haemorrhage
