Suggestions on the TA mailing list that someone should stand against Jack McConnell in the 2003 Scottish Parliament election as an official Tartan Army candidate.
I think this is a good idea.
What does everyone else on here think of this idea?

Aye, the gettifuyaw@nka party. However, the thought of a member of the TA as a bona fide political representative in the Scottish (but still ruled by London) Parliament is somewhat surreal.

Great Idea to oppose the Mincer. You would need to have a credible candidate, someone known to the public. Either that or play it for laughs by putting up 'Mr Yorkie'.
You might want to announce the intention to stand immedietly as this will get publicity and costs nothing.

i remember this idea being banded about when the solo bid was ruled out, obviously there is some continued support for the idea - BTW would such a campaign not help the SNP - given that the objective would be to take votes away fae mcconnell/labour?
