Just read from the papers about next week's meeting of Bosnian and Croatian Prime Ministers regarding the final preparations before UEFA Congress in Stockholm.
For purpose of promotion of the bid, among others, the following people from Bosnia and Croatia might be there in Stockholm in May:
- Danis Tanovic, Bosnian film director, Oscar award winner
- Goran Ivanisevic, Croatian tennis player, Wimbledon winner
- Ivica Osim, Bosnian, coach of Sturm Graz Austria
- Vahid Halilhodzic, coach of Lille France
- and maybe Janica Kostelic, Croatian skiing Olympic champion (3 gold plus 1 silver medals)
- and some others...
Sounds quite interesting. And after all, I really might end up accomodating Tartan Army in my wee apartment in Sarajevo. Could be fun though!
See you!

Nothing to worry about, we'll have:-
- The Proclaimers, popular pop duo
- Eamon Holmes, handsome daytime tv presenter
- Sean Connery, providing he doesn't miss his connection from Spain
- Bertie Vogts, German
- Gaye Burne, equally as popular as Holmes
- Robbie Stockdale, (English) hat-trick hero aginst Nigeria
We've got nothing to worry about.

Aye Ian, but I might add 'unfortunately' as I wanted it to be in Scotland. But...
If that doesn't work, why not Bos/Cro2008? Remember Sarajevo and Zagreb!

Rista, just for others to understand, I reply in English. Basically, the question is why do I think that Austria has better chances than Scotland?
It is actually Aus/Swi which is, according to me, better bid than Sco/Ire. I think they have better financial posibilities and even more - they are connected by land. As for stadiums and/or anything else, it's easy when money is in.
Again, I feel so sorry that Scotland is not going solo as in that case it would be the best bid. But, we all know details of the sad story...
Scandinavian bid is very funny, to have such a big area for the finals!? Greek/Turkish bid is very unrealistic though.
Speaking of Bosnian/Croatian bid, it was funny some months ago but sounds more serious now. With foreign interests and investments, everything is possible. After all, it's all about money. And politics.
And I forgot Hungary. Again similar story like Bos/Cro?
So, my current list of bids:
1. Austria/Switzerland
2. Scotland/Ireland
3. Bosnia/Croatia
4. Hungary
5. Scandinavia
6. Greece/Turkey
Sorry, just my opinion At the moment!

Jos uvek ne razumem po kojoj logici Austrija/Svica ima vise love nego Sco/Ireland kombinacija.
Sorry, Iíll continue on English. Youíre right, itís all about money, but unfortunately itís about politics too. I have nothing against Bos/Cro bid, but it could happen only with interference of politicians. And I hate when politicians are involved with sport. Anyway, my list begins with Scotland/Ireland and thatís where it ends.
Mirza, koliko si ti dugo u Skotskoj? Vidim da odlicno govoris, tj. pises engleski.

Rista, I'm not in Scotland. It's only Scotland in my heart. I write all this from my good old home in Sarajevo.
Anyway, as for money (and even more - some other) issues of Scottish/Irish bid, read some other posts and you might get it. But still - let's hope.

I thought you live there because everybody from the TAMB seems to know you. So, youíre from Sarajevo. Iím from Belgrade. Tell me, who is Bosnian coach now? There was a rumour that Ciro Blazevic was interested, bat that failed.

Aye, I agree Mirza. †I think the Alpine bid is looking much more glamourous than ours now. †They have the plans, †the cash, the infrastructure, new stadia being worked on right now, they have a big sway with the men at the top and to be fair they're really nice places and they are guaranteed a nice sunny summer. †The other bids all have holes in them and despite our best hopes our bid has really slumped of late. †It was mentioned on another post that at the Ireland and Scottish games this week there was nothing to proclaim the new joint bid. †Enthusiasm seems to be slipping fast across the spectrum and despite the best efforts of the TA there seems to be noone at the appropriate level willing to put their reputation on the line and get a grip of it. †Ah well....Zurich or Vienna in June 2008......life can be worse.

Something to say |
Vienna? Zurich? Could it be worse? Your judgement on the Austro-Swiss proposal wouldn't happen to be clouded by the fact that if they're successful it means you won't have to drive halfway across Europe to watch all the games? Even though i'm six years too early can I book a wee space on yer floor. Oh, and can I book a big space for Elvis, preferably as far away as possible. What about on a wee island in the Danube?

Personally, if the Bosnian?croatian bid is succesful, I hope they play games in Kopranica. I know a barmaid, policeman and a goat from there.
In fact, one more beer after the U-21 game and we would have missed the last train to Zagreb and would have had to spent the night with one of them...

Anyway, I don't think the Cro/Bos bid can do fine but... let's hope.
Aitchy, nae problem. Space still available. As for your request for Elvis, the elevator will do fine, if you agree.
Rossy - you missed one more beer, only one more beer, but you went for your train, for your train, and do you feel sorry, do you feel sorry...
