GET A LIFE!!! |
Hello folks
I was hoping for some advice from the good travellers on this board and all. I'am planning on doing a mini tour around europe before I come back to Scotland to start summer school in July this year, at moment saving up some money for the course but also saving up for a travelling.. Would love to see parts of eastern europe including Estonia,Belarus,Slovenia, and Austria/Swiss.
Went to Sweden last year and that was ace wouldn't mind doing Russia,Finland and Latvia,Estonia routes..
any recomendations?
cheers

I'd certainly recommend Prague - top city, wonderful buildings, great views and very very cheap.
Zagreb is also very nice and the people are amongst the friendliest I've ever met, anywhere.

Oh aye - forgot about Barcelona.
If you're looking to do something other than cities, you could do a lot worse than head for the Ardeche in France (it's the department which is on the west side of the Rhone, not too far south of Lyon). Scenery is fantastic, there are loads of top wee towns and villages for food and drink (Vallon Pont d'Arc is highly recommended) and you can't beat a wee canoe trip down through the Ardeche Gorges.

If you are going East then a stop in Venice on the way would be good. It is very expensive though. Also Zagreb is good but the Croatian Adriatic coast (Dubrovnik) is also good for beachy type things.

Went inter-railing for 4 weeks during 1999 and it was the best time of my life. Get a Eurial pass. Visited Paris, Barcelona, Genoa, Rome, Florence, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Berlin and Amsterdam all in that order. Plenty of time to see loads. Barcelona, Prague and Budapest were the best. Berlin was a bit disappointing.

Something to say |
I would suggest getting Ryanair to somewhere like Klagenfurt or Graz In SE Austria. From there its very easy to get to Llubijana, Zagreb and Budapest. From Budapest its pretty easy to train it to Krakow, Bratislava & Vienna. From there you can go onto Prague.
Worked in Budapest for a year and its my favourite city I have visited. Cheap beer, stunning women and plenty to do.
