The cheapest seats on these planes are the first ones booked........anyone know when these companies start to take bookings for September 2003?
Would any of these carriers be interested in flying "football specials" if you know what I mean?
Even from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Amsterdam?
Anyone work for these guys.....know anyone who does....would know where to start investigating?
Will the HEB be considering further charters to Germany or Amsterdam?

I think it might be a while yet, maybe beginning of next year, Easyjet are only letting you book up to October 2002 I think. From what I've heard from other people they're more likely to put the price up if there is the chance of a high demand for particular dates, but who knows.

Something to say |
Macduffer,
The HQ for Easy Jet is Liverpool's Speake (John Lennon) Airport. I think you might be able to get in touch (e-mail?) with them via their web site but booking through their website is limited to only the next few months. Don't know about Ryan- Air but would suggest the same. Cant help any further i'm afraid. I work at Manchester Airport but easyjet doesn't operate from there and ryan air flights are limited and i don't know of any offices at our place. I'll keep my eyes and ears open and get back to you if i canfind out anything positive.

The availability of advance bookings depends on the landing and take off slots allocated by the airports, so you probably find that the ability to book in advance gets updated every few months. Some airlines will take a booking well in advance (for example, someone on a round the world trip) but there's no guarantee the flight time will remain the same.

UHA- take-off slots are only used at certain times due to en-route airspace restrictions.
I've got a feeling it's more down to airlines not being too sure what their winter/summer flight schedules'll be.
i.e. schedules for summer 2003 won't be available yet, so consequently neither will bookings.
I think.

That would probably make sense Schneckie....I was just going on what they told me at Stansted, which I guess is a wee bit busier than Stansted.

No worries, Helly. The whole thing's pretty complicated, and airline staff tend not to be too clued up.

I always thought that but you are wrong, it is generally correct but we had a case when we went to Poland, the only bit of the journey we still had to book was the Aberdeen to Luton, on the first day that these went on sale both legs of the journey came up at £55 e/w plus tax, I was expecting to see something like £17.50, but we were faced with no alternative but to book it.
I was aggreived by it that I checked the site several times to see if it was increasing in price, then one day part of the journey was available at £ 20 less, I phoned Easyjet and they tell me that they always guarantee the cheapest price and refunded me £60.
This happened on another two occassions with this trip and each time I got straight on the phone for a refund.
We paid for 3 seats at the cost of £120 each and by the time we went away we had a weeeeeee kitty of £114, the flight was then 2 hours late in departing and taking these two factors into account was maybe the reason we arrived in such a state in Luton.
